Up In The Air

Alright, clearly posting a blog consistently is going about as well as my social media updates… which don’t exist.

The other day, I was approached by a friend and asked if I would be up for taking some aerial shots of Door County from his plane. Uh, yeah! Of course I would want to do that! But also… that is super nerve racking.

I love flying, I honestly get an adrenaline rush when there is turbulance on the plane (I’m not quite sure what that says about me). But the thought of going up in a small, two-seater plane brought both excitment and extreme nerves (this is where the wacky emoji face gets inserted). Now, there is wisdom at times of heeding those nerves you feel in your stomach. Other times those nerves are an invitation to experience something wonderful. This was one of those times.

Door County from the sky is both magical and eye opening. It made me feel very small and I liked that a lot!

This little plot of land holds so much beauty and history. Who knew such a place could exist in little old Wisconsin? Since moving back a few years ago, I’ve come to appreciate more and more the beauty of this land.

Enjoy the pictures from my aerial adventure:

One bummer from the flight is I was fighting my nerves before going up that I didn’t plan well (this is where the laughing and sweating emoji comes in). I forgot a polarizer to reduce the glare from the windows. Live and learn! Thankfully, this won’t be my last time going up.

A HUGE thank you to Christ Walker for one of the best plane rides I’ve ever been on!
